September

I would like to welcome our new gardeners to gardening club.

We got busy on the plot and got stuck in planting.

We planted leeks, cabbages, cauliflowers and onions.

The vegetables we planted needed watering in

Thank you to all our gardeners for an enthusiastic start to a new gardening year.

June 2012

Gardening club have been busy planting on the plot.
We planted flowers, squashes, sprouts, courgettes and pumpkins.

On the odd occasion when it has not rained we have watered our plants.

We planted our pumpkins. These are our own pumpkins which we have propagated from seed.

We are going to see who grows the largest pumpkin, so we have labelled them with our names.

May 2012

This term we have set up our wormery.
Each week we will feed the worms
with fruit and vegetables.

They will break down the
waste into compost
that will feed our garden.

We planted our runner beans
 on the plot.

We used lots of different varieties.
I wonder if any are magic beans.

We also have put in our potatoes.
and planted some cucumber plants.

The sun has been shining and the weather
has been hot so we have been busy watering too.

April 2012

This term Gardening club have
been planting and propagating seeds

We planted lots of different types
                               of squashes, gourds and pumpkins.

We filled our propagators up with soil.

We all got stuck in planting the seeds.

We watered them and put them under glass.
This will help them to germinate
     and grow much more quickly.

It has done nothing but rain, we have not been
able to get out on the plot as often as
we would like which makes us a bit sad.

There is a saying that gardeners use to cheer
ourselves up when it rains lots at this time of year
"April showers bring May flowers"
Lets hope it comes true
