November

This week gardening club worked together
to create a living school logo

We used ornamental cabbages and sedums
to create the effect

We drew out our design on the soil with coloured sand, then filled it in with plants

     We watered in our creation

Other jobs we’ve been doing are
Planting bulbs in the flower garden
ready for the spring
We have also planted spring cabbages, broad beans and onions.
I want to say thank you to our gardeners as they come ready for work rain or shine they all work so hard
and give their all to every project

We would like to say a special thank you to everyone who has collected and handed in Morrisons vouchers we have collected over 14,000 vouchers. This will buy tools for the Nursery and Reception gardens and equipment
for gardening club

'It's Harvest time'

Some of our youngest
gardeners in school got busy
in the garden for harvest. We
harvested the pumpkins

Some were very large and very heavy

We could hardly lift them

We all agreed this pumpkin Lauren planted is the largest
Well done for winning our pumpkin growing race.

The Nursery and Reception classes will be creating pumpkin lanterns for Halloween

September

I would like to welcome the new
Gardening Club members
and say well done and thank you for working so hard today.

It was the most amazing sunny day
to kick off the gardening year at
Robin Hood.

We had a good look around
our gardens to see what had grown.

We all agreed that the pumpkins were
the most impressive.

We can't wait for the harvest and Halloween.

It was potato harvest time so we got digging.

.

The potatoes are of an amazing size we were all impressed.

They will be eaten in school by our children.
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been bringing in Morrisons vouchers for our gardening equipment. We hope to save lots of vouchers this year.

July 2011

This term we have been busy
               harvesting some of our
crops that are ready to eat.

They have all grown really successfully.

Our radishes grew to an unusually large size and quite unconventional shapes.

We delivered our fresh produce to our fabulous
dinner ladies.

We served on the salad cart in the dining hall everyone tried some of our produce with their lunch.

Pumpkin Race

This term gardening club
began a pumpkin race.

We planted our pumpkins that we grew from seed in the fabulous
new planters in the front of our nursery.

                              Look how they are growing.
They have the most tremendous flowers.

We named a label so we can keep
track of our own pumpkins progress.

See if you can you spot
your pumpkin?

We will keep you posted with our progress

Who's pumpkin will be the winner?
